[1BCH] In Time

In 2169, people are genetically engineered to stop aging on their 25th birthday, when a one-year countdown on their forearm begins. When it reaches zero, the person «times out» and dies instantly. Time has thus become the universal currency, transferred directly between people or stored in «time capsules». Several major areas called Time Zones exist within Ohio: Dayton is the poorest, a manufacturing «ghetto» where people rarely have more than 24 hours on their clocks; in New Greenwich, people have enough time to be essentially immortal.

  1. At the beginning, the film is a little stranger, because you don’t understand what is the finality of the time, but after watching the film, you can see a parallelism with our presente world, that is yo say, we always day that we don’t have a money to go on holiday, but in reality we are so obsessed in getting money to good live in the future, that never we think that the most important is the present, because you can’t know if you Will be in the future.

In conclusion, this film teaches us to appraise our time, and also this film shows us that the time we Lost, we Will never get It back.

  2. I like very much this film. I think it is shows in an original way, how could be our future. People in the film need time no money for living. the richman have got a lot of time but de poor people only have a day and every day they need get more time to keep living. When the time is shared for all the people the global order is altered. Today something like that if the money was distributed equally beetwen all the humans.

  3. This movie is stragne but I liked it .
It’s a science fiction movie in which people can be 25 years old always , but that luxury has a price. The money term is changed for time .
It has similitaries to the real world , on the one hand because so that some can be very rich , others must be very poor , and on the other hand because we are obsessed with having a lot of money , that then we don’t know where can we spend it .
In conclusion , this movie has helped me reflect and know that our time is very valuable and we shouldn’t waste it , and if we want to achieve something , we must fight for it.

  4. ‘IN TIME’
This movie, even if it is fiction, it’s right because it has parallelisms with reality.
One of the most parallelism is that the rich dominate the poor, because in the present the rich they can buy and live better than the poor, and in the film the rich live more than the poor, because the time is gold. Another parallelism is the phrase “the time is gold” because in the film everything is paid with time and discounted from time life.
In my opinion, this film this film is very good because even if from the future, it represents in another way our way of life.

  5. The film ‘In time’ represents very well some of the parallelims that exist with today, for example: in the film it is the rich who control everything since they control how long people can live and today it is the rich who they control countries and not only economically. The saying “time is gold” is very appropriate for this film because they pay with their life time and can only recover it if the rich want to.
In my opinion it is a good film that makes you reflect and that teaches one of the possible futures that we can have.

  6. When I finished watching the movie, I asked myself, if we are really making good use of the time if we are doing things the way we want to, but I think we aren’t, and we are wasting even more time. And apart from all this, we are not realizing what we have today, we are always thinking about what will happen in the future and you should focus more on the present.

In conclusion, we should make more use of our time and not waste it on other things.

    • ‘In the time’ is a film in which people need to buy their time (seconds, minutes, hours, years), which has also become the only existing currency. The rich are the ones who control this time and who decide if you can get it back
In my opinion, it has seemed to me a quite interesting film and I have been surprised by several things about it, also who knows if in the future we have that life

  7. “In Time” presents us with a world in which the new coin of change is time.

Humanity has eliminated the ageing gene in their bodies but at 25 years old, a counter will activate on their wrist, limiting his life and allowing only the wealthiest to live forever.
This film makes a critique of capitalism, where the poor spend their time buying goods and wasting their lives to getting more time to live, and the rich control everything, being the only ones with the luxury of living forever. A situation that is not far from our current reality.

For me, “In Time” is a very entertaining film, I’ve seen it a couple of times and I’ll probably see it a few more.

  8. This film has made me reflect on the value we give to things and how we live thinking about the future without focusing on the present, and the reality is that the present is the only sure thing we have and the future is uncertain. The value that time in this film is like money in our society. The rich live without worrying about money and the others live the day trying to get money for the next day.

  9. In this film you can see that the rich always win, they are the only who can be “inmortal”. But the “poor” live their lives day by day, minute by minute, they enjoy full time. It is never fair that many people die only because a few are “immortal”. The main character are trying to end the corruption of the system. The film teaches that time is gold and can’t be wasted, which today is difficult to do.

  10. After being charged with murder, Will Salas escapes with Sylvia, the daughter of one of the richest men in the world. As the story progresses, the protagonists look for ways to sink the system in which time is money. Over time, these two unite and rob banks and places that dictate the country, deciding who lives and who dies. In the end they manage to take a million years from Sylvia’s father, which they distributed to the population. With this they achieved what they had in mind and continued to deliver justice. This story makes us see the difference in society, how the capitalist system lives on the work of others and directs the lives of the poor.

  11. I have interpreted this film in two ways.
On the one hand I have seen it as a way of making us see the value of time, because as David Miles said «Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing». By this I mean that no matter how much money you have, time will be always more important and it’s the only thing that you’ll never be able to recover. That’s why in the film, instead of money, they use time because «time is money» -Benjamin Franklin
On the other hand I see it as a criticism of the society, where the richest don’t have to worry about anything while the poorest, as always, work hard to survive in a capitalistic society.

  12. After watching this movie I have been excited. I like action movies and in this movie you had to always be concerned about time. I think that nowadays we value little the time that we have because we think that we have more than enough. No one should waste time because it’s so precious. In my opinion you have to find tasks to do because losing time is like losing your life.
I found the movie entertaining and better than others we have seen.

  13. I see that the film is a critique of today’s society, especially capitalism, since the rich always live at the expense of the poor. Economic inequality is reflected throughout the film and is questioned why some have so much at the expense of others, for none should be immortal if someone has to die. Actually the idea that the film provides compared to what today’s society is doesn’t make much difference, the only difference is that instead of using the current currency they use something even more valuable to the human being, which is time. I really liked the film and the message it provides, because the rich believe that getting rid of the poor will live better, but quite the opposite, thanks to the poor they have those riches.

  14. At the beginning the film is rare but as you progress it makes more sense, when I finished it I felt like a fool since I realized all the time we wasted preparing for the future, the parallel that most caught my attention was the phrase “time is money” since there as everything is paid with time to live and here in our world we waste time trying to earn money and that is practically the same.
In conclusion I think it is a very good movie, it makes you think and that is something that most movies do not get.

  15. This film represents today’s society in a much darker and more fictitious way, they represent the money and power with the time, but everything that this film shows us is true. Our world is controlled by the rich with a capitalist system, basically the poor work and the rich benefit. There are two phrases that have caught my attention:
-“The poor die and the rich don’t live”; the rich doesn’t enjoy money because he has a lot and doesn’t know what to do with it, while the poor dies for not having it.
-“For a few to be inmortal, many must die”; We see this in our day to day, there are many poor people in the world, while some people have enough money to free them from that poverty.

  16. I think that, the idea of the film is very good, since it can be trafficked in minutes. I see some similarities, for example, the social classes of rich and poor, and as for the current situation, “we have to die many for a few to live” says Will, the protagonist, I think that is applicable to the current situation with the coronavirus, in fact, until they get the vaccine and we can live, many will have to die.

  17. This is not the first time that I see this film. The first time that I saw it, I didn’t understand anything. Now, in my third time, I can say that the film has sense. The film made me feel sad for the people of the ghetto, like when you see a bum in real life. But that isn’t happening in our reality, still not. It doesn’t means that it isn’t going to happen in a near future. In fact, it will happen. But there will always be someone to save the poorest people.

  18. This film seems very interesting to me because it’s unusual, it focuses more on teaching a metaphor or similarity with the life than a story. This movie shows us how short life is and that we have to appreciate the present and worry less for the future because you don’t know what will happen in an hour, tomorrow or in the next week, we live now, in the present, and sometimes we don’t appreciate it and the time and life go and don’t come back. This film has many similarities with the time relating it to people’s lifes, like we can see with the watch on the forearm of the people in the movie. Definitely, it’s a very original film that I think that all the people should see to learn something important and new about the sense of the life.

  19. The film is about a future where people have become immortal. The aging gene has been removed, giving people an appearance of eternal youth, they can only live up to 25 years. On earth there is overpopulation and that is why it is forced to end at a certain age to live. Some people traffic over time and get more life. I have found several similarities in this movie with reality. The lower classes do crazy things to buy more time. They cannot get out of their ghettos.Instead, the upper class lives carefree on the other side of the city.  They can buy as long as they want. The reality is very similar.  Poor people do their best to live their best, showing that the wealthy have everything. In the film we see various injustices about the lower class. Although the money has not yet been replaced, the human is enslaved to spend time of his life working for years to pay for material goods, regardless of the things that he should enjoy and care about.

  20. In my view, this is a reality pushed to the limit. Life moves in a matter of time, today time is important, but in that reality it is everything. There is no money, it is paid with time.
I found the film interesting and entertaining, I would not like to see myself in that situation with just enough time for each day as Dayton. But, one day gives to do many things.

The parallelisms I have found have been: For a few people can live forever, many people must die. In this case, instead of living, it would be that for a few people to be rich, many people must be poor. Today we can see this example.

Another parallelism is the slums, where poor people live (they don’t have time) and wealthy neighborhoods, where big companies are located and where rich people are living (they have time).

The last parallel that I have found has been that, many people live daily, in reality with money, in the movie with time, also you can die.

  21. The movie is a bit strange to me because I never seen a movie like this.

The similarity that I find is the same as always the rich live as they want (in the case of the movie they can live as long as they want) while the poor have to work a lot (in the case of the movie they work for minutes of life) and as what they work with isn´t enough to survive they have to steal

  22. In my opinion I think that in this film they want us to see what would happen if the money of the rich went to the poor although in the film instead of having money everything is paid with time to live. The parallels with reality are the poor people and rich people also another parallel is that it
doesn´t matter that the poor die every day if the rich continue to live. The rich are afraid to be robbed but the poor aren´t afraid and this makes the poor happier than the rich. In my opinion there will always be rich and poor and although this has solution it will never be solved. In conclusion, I liked the film “In Time“ a lot of because I had never thought what would happen if all the money from the rich went to tha poor.

  23. The film “In time” represents our society, dominated by capitalism. In this case, money is time, and it is people’s own lives too. Rich people live forever, while poor people hardly live up to date. This fight to get the time under control, is nowadays the fight to survive. Even though rich people don’t need it, they take everything from the poorest, something that they have received with a great sacrifice.
After seeing the film, I have seen the current world reflected. The only difference is that there is no money. But in fact, our society is a world dominated by the passage of time, by work and, after all, by those who have the power.
At the end of the film people win, they get the control, or rather, the chaos, in the eyes of those who repress them.
If we want the same change in our world, we will have to fight for it.

  24. Honestly, I did not like this movie, although I can also understand that many other people like it. I have some similarities, for example, the social classes of rich and poor, and as for the current situation, I think it is applicable to the current situation with the coronavirus, in fact, until they receive the vaccine and we can live, many will have to To die.

  25. I really liked the film because it shows what our world really is, only in a different way. Time represents money and as shown in the film, the people who have a lot of time are the rich, that is, they are the ones who have a lot of money in our reality, and the ones who have a little time are the poor. The poor do whatever it takes to get more time and live longer, while the wealthy have eternal time and can buy whatever they want and buy whatever they want. That is the parallelism with our world and our reality.

  27. from my point of view is a very good film because deal wiht the topic of the social classes and how use the time wich can be interpreted like money so that not having represents the end of life, or can be interprted like time and that represents how the end of the life is near every day
